Hey Divas,
January is here. I'm excited, because we’re stepping into the Year of the Fire Horse—an energy of freedom, courage, movement, and bold momentum. Fire Horse energy moves first and figures it out mid-stride. And how do I know? Fire didn’t show up for me until 45.
🐎 When the Fire Finds You Later
I didn’t grow up surfing. I didn’t “know" I would love the ocean the way I do now in midlife. At 45, during a season of major life change, I paddled out on a board for the first time - scared, awkward, and wildly alive.
A small spark literally ignited a flame. And it changed everything.
Surfing became more than a hobby. It became a passion, a teacher, and a mirror. It showed me that courage lives in the body. That joy comes from movement. That reinvention doesn’t ask your age—it only asks your willingness.
🔥 It’s Never Too Late to Catch on Fire
If the Fire Horse has a message for us, it’s this:
You are not behind. You didn’t miss your moment. Your passion doesn’t have an expiration date.
Sometimes the fire waits until midlife—until we’re brave enough to listen, grounded enough to trust ourselves, and wise enough to stop asking for permission.
🌊 Move First. Clarity Follows.
Surfing taught me what yoga teaches too: the body knows before the mind does.
This month, let movement lead:
Stretch before you plan
Flow before you decide
Walk, surf, paddle, breathe—feel yourself forward
Momentum is created by moving with intention.
✨ A Fire Horse Moment (Try This)
Today or tomorrow:
Move your body—yoga, pilates, walking, or stretching
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly
Use this mantra: “It’s not too late. My fire is alive. I move toward what lights me up.”
Take one small action toward something that excites you—no overthinking
💖 January Intention
We’re leaving the Year of the Snake behind.
The Snake taught us to shed skin, sit in stillness, move quietly, and heal beneath the surface. It was introspective, subtle, and deeply transformational—but often slow and solitary.
The Year of the Fire Horse is different.
The Horse runs with her power and intention. She trusts her instincts, follows her passion, and lets action create clarity.
So this January, set your intention clearly:
I honor the shedding I’ve done.
I thank the stillness that healed me.
And now—I move.
If a 45-year-old woman can paddle into fear and find fire…So can you.
With lots of love, waves, salty sea spray,
